Radio & Television
Broadcast television and radio stations could sometimes be considered the epicenter of CD and DVD waste. Some discs are expected and welcome at these stations, but unfortunately there are many unsolicited discs sent in, creating piles and piles of soon to be trash. Please do not let these unwanted discs end up in the trash. Simply gather them and send them into The CD Recycling Center. After the majority has been sent in, like many studios currently do, you can send in newly collected discs on a weekly or monthly schedule.
Here’s how you can play your part:
- Do a story on the importance of CD and DVD recycling. Please contact us for an interview.
- Do a major clean out and send your discs to The CD Recycling Center.
- Take an empty box, and place our sign on it that reads “Recycle bad /unwanted discs here” and put it in a convenient place in your control room. Watch this box fill after a month or sometimes even a week! Please pledge today to never throw a disc in the trash again. It is very harmful to our environment. The best way to have your discs recycled is to send them in to our CD Recycling Center. Sure the postage will cost a little bit, but it’s a small amount to help our planet. Think of it this way… “In your business, if you use, sell, promote, distribute, or manufacture compact discs, it is your responsibility to promote how to recycle them. Compacts Discs, when recycled properly, will stop unnecessary pollution, conserve natural resources, and help our environmental substantially.”
